Building the perfect sports car is something that so many companies have been trying to do, but in the end, doing this could be a lot simpler.
A skilled designer who posts his creations on Instagram comes with one very simple idea: instead of building a new sports car from scratch, why not mixing together two models and use the best they have to offer for a one-of-a-kind monster?
This is how the Tesla X Ferrari came to be, as Instagram artist loic3ldrawing created an exterior design case study based on a combination of two different cars, namely the Tesla Roadster and the Ferrari Roma.
And the result is surprising, to say the least, as the sports car here actually looks pretty good. And since it’s a Tesla, it could obviously be an electric sports car with Ferrari DNA.
Now, despite the whole thing looking good, it doesn’t necessarily mean there’s the smallest chance to ever see this happening. Renderings are fun, but in 99.99 percent of the cases, they envision designs that never come to be.
And this one right here is certainly the living proof, as Ferrari and Tesla working together on a sports car isn’t something that you should expect to happen anytime soon.
Needless to say, both Tesla and Ferrari could actually push their models closer to the design envisioned here. Tesla, for example, is already planning the new Model S, and while a Ferrari-inspired design is off the table, a sportier look that gets closer to what we have here might actually work.
At the same time, the Ferrari Roma itself has nothing to do with EVs. The latest model of the Prancing Horse comes with a 3.9-liter V8 twin-turbo engine that developes over 610 horsepower and is mated to an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, so it’s safe to say that fuel consumption is one of its last concerns.
