The Tesla Model S all-electric sedan is America’s most loved vehicle, according to a recent study coming from Strategic Vision, which calculated a “Love Score” for several vehicles using a scoring system based on a car’s “total emotional response from buyer-drivers”.
The Palo Alto-built EV scored 852 out of 1,000 points and ranked first in the survey that consisted of no less than 26 categories, from “micro car” to “heavy duty pickup”. The Hyundai Equus was the only other car to earn more than 800 points, while the Cadillac Escalade took third place with 772 points.
“We completed over a decade of research and consulting in determining how to capture the ways that people talk about their loves. We discovered that the natural language was in a ‘Love-Hate’ context with nuances in-between. The report of Most Loved Vehicles in America captures a vehicle’s total emotional response from buyer-drivers. The industry is mature enough to actually accept ‘True Love’ as a core comprehensive, interactive and discriminating emotional response,” said Dr. Darrel Edwards.
