The American-made Tesla Model S needed only two months to become Norway’s best-selling vehicle. Launched in Europe in early August, the electric four-door became the top-selling car in Norway last month, overtaking the popular Volkswagen Golf.
The electric car had a market share of 5.1 percent in Norway last month, while the conventionally-powered German vehicle finished the month in second place, with a market share of 4.6 percent.
"There has been an enormous demand for this car, and it doesn't seem to stop. We have a lot of customers on the waiting list right now," said Joar Tenfjord, the head of Tesla's dealership in Bergen, Norway. “You get great value for your money with the Model S. It is a spacious car ... and it is also environmentally friendly,” he added.
The Tesla Model S starts from around $110,000 in Norway, a little more than a BMW 5 Series.
