Taiwanese automaker Luxgen has shown off its offerings for the Russian market, at the Moscow International Auto Salon 2012, ahead of the brand’s official market debut, in the second quarter of 2013. Their first offering is the Luxgen7 SUV, a mid-sized SUV which measurers 4.8 meters in length.
It will be powered by a 2.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine, pumping out 175 hp, and driving all four wheels through a five-speed automatic gearbox. It will be joined, before the end of 2013, by the Luxgen5, a sedan powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine, producing 170 hp, however, this time driving the front wheels through a six-speed autobox.
The company also showed off the Luxgen7 CEO, which is a serious and sober-looking MPV, which, in the company’s own words, suits “the business executive who demands private space”. We say that if they are priced correctly, these cars will start to become quite common in Russia, over the next few years.
