It is a mystery why Subaru never made hotter versions of their other cars, aside from the Impreza, as with the kind of know-how they posses, they could have made anything drive and handle like a rally car, and we mean that in a good way. Now, though, they have launched the Legacy tS, in Japan, a car which gets some STI treatment.
The model is now available for order, yet with only 300 units to be made, it will undoubtedly sell out rather quickly. So why is it so special? Well, it gets revised and more sporty front and rear bumpers, a sports exhaust system and stylish 18-inch wheels. Inside, it gets swathes of leather and alcantara sown with contrasting red stitching, dark grey trim, STi badges and other, less significant mods.
Power comes from the 2.5-liter boxer engine Subaru owners have gotten used to for a few years now, and it provides 173 hp and 235 Nm of torque, which is sent to all four wheels via a CVT gearbox. It is available as both a sedan and estate, and, in Japan, it costs 3,360,000 yen, or the equivalent of about €32,500.
