Subaru has just introduced a special edition Forester in the United Kingdom that is already available to dealerships across the country. Just as one would expected when hearing about a special edition, the 2.0D SureTrak comes with several features at a special price.
For example, the new model comes with rear privacy glass, full leather trim, rear parking sensors, electric folding door mirrors, front and rear underguards and a redesigned instrument cluster in addition to the standard features offered on the 2.0D XC, autocar.co.uk noted.
And speaking of standard features on the 2.0D XC, they include climate control, heated front seats, an electric sunroof, xenon headlamps, stability control and eight airbags.
The special edition is painted in either dark grey metallic paintwork with platinum leather interior or spark silver metallic paint with a black leather interior. Additionally, it comes with some suspension upgrades over the stock Forester models, with some of improvements likely to be offered on the 2010 Foresters as well, as the aforementioned source informed.
As for the price, the special edition costs 25,965 pounds (approximately 30,000 euros) and the Japanese carmaker says it represents a significant consumer saving.
The 2.0D engine offered on the Forester produces a maximum power of 144.8 hp at 3,600 rpm and 257 lb-ft of torque between 1,800 and 2,400 rpm. This means the car accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 10.4 seconds, while topping at 115.6 mph (186 km/h). As for fuel consumption, the engine achieves up to 32.66 mpg (7.2 L/100Km) and 40.55 mpg (5.8 L/100Km) in city and highway cycles respectively.
