Toyota might have designed the looks of the new sports coupe, but we also thing that the Subaru version looks best, even though the changes are minute. So we’re not surprised that even though both would look good drifting mount Fuji, Subaru is getting the better sales.
In the domestic market of Japan, where both cars are built off the same Fuji Heavy Industries assembly plant, Subaru has already sold the allocation for two month, as the pace of demand is four times what was originally expected.
Between February 3rd and March 27th, a total of 3,551 BRZ coupes have been spoken for. What’s more, Subaru will likely also make more money off the car than they expected, as 78.4 percent of sales were of the highest grade model, which has navigation.
In the US, the car will launch early next month, though it’s already available for order. The $25,000 price tag seems decent enough, but we’re worried about the European market, as it seems a tad expensive there. Due to strong domestic demand, Subaru will only export 6,000 BRZs to the US this year.
