The accident that occurred on the 60 Freeway in Moreno Valley, California last Friday and killed 4 people, including an 8-months pregnant woman was caused by an illegal street race, authorities find.
The California Highway Patrol are looking for 2 other vehicles that took part in the race, a black Mazda hatchback and a gray or dark color, newer Honda Civic, CBS Los Angeles reports.

The passengers in the white BMW that crashed and flipped were all killed, but one – a woman whose condition is not known at this time. There were 5 people in the car, including the pregnant woman, who has been identified as Airyana Ruby Luna. She and her fiance, Valentino Ramos, were passengers in the backseat.

Police records show that Ramos and Luna had been out celebrating with friends and were on their way home from a casino. The driver of the car - also killed – was a friend of the couple’s. During the race, he lost control of the car and hit the center median, which made the car flip and land on the other side of the freeway.

Airyana’s mother, Laura Garcia, tells the publication that she and her fiance were eager to start their own family. They had just had their baby shower and were preparing for another: Garcia is also with child.

“Her first baby… Her sister just had a baby and I just had a baby so the three of us were going to raise… our newborns together. It was going to be very exciting for us,” she says.

The family has set up a couple of GoFundMe pages to help pay for funeral costs. They reveal a heartbreaking story of young love cut short and stress that the 2 were participants in the street race by pure chance. Presumably, they would have been more cautious with a baby on the way.
