While ‘The Big Showdown 5’ YouTuber callout competition happened more than a month ago, its Texas Motorplex (Ennis, TX) echoes still reverberate across the vast expanses of social media.
Herman Young and his videographer's desire to make the Demonology YouTube channel one of the best for Mopar fans has led to the logical acquisition and racing of a 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 not long ago. Still, he had enough time to race it across venues in Texas before embarking on the biggest challenger to date – The Big Showdown 5. He didn’t go there with the mega-powered Black Ghost because that ‘Last Call’ special edition model is even more powerful than a Demon 170 and would overshadow and overwhelm most participants. Instead, dressed neatly in a spectacular wrap, he took the stock 1,025-horsepower Demon 170 to the premises.

Well, maybe it wasn’t the most powerful at the event, but as his fellow YouTubers said, it was among “awesome cars, terrific energy, lots of smiles, bangin’ food, and plain old good time.” Of course, during the races and the pre-stages, friends turned back into competitors, and months of online rants or wars got the scores settled one quarter-mile at a time.

As always, one of the most anticipated skirmishes was the feud between Sage Thomas, the owner of ‘In and Out Customs Racing Team,’ which is involved in big-wheel racing motorsports “city-to-city, state-to-state.” Okay, maybe the name doesn’t ring a bell. So, as a public figure, he’s best known as ‘Donkmaster,’ and over the years, he has proven that he deserves the moniker time and time again.

This time around, he was in Texas with his 1971 Chevrolet Impala ‘Z06’ and the main event of the night was the clash of titans with Herman Young, aka ‘Demonology’ and his stock 1,025-horsepower 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170. Usually, that would mean the latter is at an advantage over the competition, but this time around, Donkmaster’s creation allegedly makes at least 2,500 horsepower.

Alas, we all know that big-rimmed tuned vehicles aren’t exactly the best drag material, so perhaps they were working on an almost level playing field, as both drivers also have a ton of experience behind the wheel of crazy racers.  Well, as it turns out from the multiple angles and trio of videos we have embedded below, Herman Young probably regrated fighting Sage Thomas’ fully-built donk the instance the light turned green as the Demon 170 almost threw a couple of wheelies before sending itself down the dragstrip like a rocket.

However, by then, the Donckmaster’s Impala Z06 was already at full speed and passed the victory marker with flying colors – there were no times or trap speeds, but the track’s lights clearly marked the winner. After all, this isn’t called “the world’s fastest donk” for no reason, right?
