A Chrysler Group five-year product plan that was recently made public reveals, among other things, that the SRT Viper will receive a revamp in 2015.
The third generation of the Viper has just arrived on the market, but so has the new Corvette Stingray and while 2013 may not see Chrysler’s vehicle being threatened by the C7 ‘Vette past the normal limit, the following years may change that.
The Corvette will receive its hotter versions, such as the Z06 naturally-aspirated one or the supercharged ZR1 and then the Viper will need something extra if it wants to stay competitive. The aforementioned upgrades for the Stingray are expected to arrive within the next few years, so it makes full sense for SRT to also plan an upgrade for the Viper.
In addition to that, the product plan shows us that SRT will also give us a new model in 2016, but there are no details about the car at the moment. You can see Chrysler's new product plan below.
