As we’re getting closer and closer to the launch of the BMW M4 Coupe, the German carmaker has left the prototypes behind and is currently testing the pre-production model at the Nurburgring.
While the BMW M4 prototypes we spied in the past were dressed in Black (under the camo, of course), this pre-production vehicle comes in Silver. And those massive black reams conceal a set of golden brake calipers, which means that BMW is also testing the ceramic brakes on the M4.
BMW hasn’t offered us any info so far, but the F82 M4 Coupe is expected to be powered by a 3.0-liter turbocharged unit based on the N55 on the F30 335i 3 Series. The unit is expected to keep the 420 hp output of the outgoing E92 M3.
While the power won’t be increased, the BMW M4 Coupe will make use of lightweight materials such as carbon fiber and will thus be both slimmer and more rigid compared to the current M3.
The F82 BMW M4 is expected to make its public debut early next year.
