The Opel Corsa is without a doubt the "slowest" kid in its class, and we're not talking about speed. While most of its class competitors are fresh off the designers' boards, it has soldiered on through a facelift and numerous small changes since 2006.
Instead of launching a brand new model, the GM sub-brand is using what little resources it has into yet another facelift which is likely to give the Corsa a nose that looks just like the Adam's. That's no bad thing, but on a car that's 7 year olds it does sound like a wasted money.
This prototype has been spotted while testing at the Nurburgring recently, though guessing what it really is might prove tricky. The Corsa Spor does come with large wheels and a visible rear exhaust, but a 1.6-liter turbo engine with 150 hp doesn't sound that interesting.
Instead, this could be a replacement for the 1.7-liter diesel model. Opel has announced a new 1.6 CDTI engine that produces 136 PS and 320 Newton meters.
In our opinion, Opel should be worried about its gearboxes, pixelated screens and lack of interior design impact before doing anything under the bonnet. Previous spyshots with this new Corsa prototype have shown that that the interior is heading in the right direction and you should definitely hold onto your money if you want a Corsa right now.
