November 18 is getting closer and closer and with it comes the LA Auto Show, where we'll be seeing the new MINI Cooper unveiled, in a world premiere. The new platform is highly anticipated, especially since it will be shared by a couple of BMW models also.
Today we get to have a quick look at the Convertible S version of the new MINI, for the first time. Unfortunately, our spy photographers only caught the car on a flatbed trailer, getting carried around, but we're sure it's the Mk3 Cooper.
Codenamed F57, the new model will be sharing its platform with the new 1 Series GT and the upcoming X1, just to name a few of the new BMWs that will be going FWD.
As for the engine it will be using, our money is on the already announced 2-liter TwinTurbo petrol unit with 192 HP and 207 lb-ft (280 Nm) of torque that, combined with the lightness of the new model, should provide some awesome thrills, especially with the top down.
