Qoros Auto is a Chinese carmaker with its headquarters in Shanghai and owned jointly by Chery and Israel Corporation. The name of the company is invented, with the ‘q’ standing for quality and the other part being a Greek word for collective voice in plays, which is supposed be a symbol for the company’s multi-nationality.
On December 20th, 2011 the company unveiled their first prototype. This is different though, it’s a brand new production sedan known internally as the C11. These photos were taken in the South of Europe, indicating the company has intentions to launch onto this market.
Power for this new sedan is supposed to come from a 1.6-liter turbo engine borrowed from Chery and coupled to either a six-speed manual or a 6-speed DCT.
The Made in China brand is supposed to “combine German design quality and craftsmanship with Japanese convenience and functionality,” according to former Volkswagen AG executive Volker Steinwascher who now works for Qoros.
