The old E93 3-Series Convertible never had any problems taking on its competition based on the way it drove. In fact, it's still a very good car to own today. But the styling was, whisper it with me, "a bit boring". In fact, you'd be forgiven for thinking it was just another boring executive sedan.
BMW have recognized this as well and have taken the 3 added 1 and made a whole new car, the 4. We've already seen the coupe version of the 4 Series, but the drop-top is still not out yet.
Not a problem! Our spy photographers captured the car we're only going to see in a few more months, the F33 4 Series Convertible. This prototype has the roof down and only hides a few elements which we actually know already.
Just like its predecessor, the 4er drop-top will have a three-piece folding metal roof, great for that extra sense of security and for preserving a sleet shape.
Compared to the old car, this will be longer, wider and lower, a faster sportscar. The interior is also going to be much better, more driver-oriented, like a cockpit that comes around you snugly.
The only thing we don't like here is that the design is sort of watered down version of the concept. Unless you spend extra dollar for the M Sport package, you won't have a radical Bimmer.
