Yes, it's true, it seems like BMW doesn't want to stop bringing newer and newer cars to the market. The latest model to be upgraded is the F20 1 Series.
Even though it was launched in 2011 and it may seem a bit early to be talking about an LCI version yet, next year will mark the 3rd anniversary of the current generation 1er and BMW is already testing the new model.
Whether we'll be seeing some drastic visual changes we don't know yet, as the camouflage seems to be protecting only the front bumper (and the rear round for some reason).
Judging by what happened with the 5 Series, we're thinking the updates will be most likely on a technological level. Things like the iDrive touch controller, Driving Assistant and even the 1.5-liter B38 engine might soon show up on the 1er so those will be significant changes.
Furthermore, it might also be the moment to introduce the F20/F21 on the US market that is currently stuck on the old E82 model. One thing is for sure: BMW is definitely taking its time testing the LCI model.
