Audi may have experimented with the R8 e-tron, but it seems that the company is now using its supercar for a whole new type of alternative fuels. The adjacent photo, a spy shot, reveals an R8 eating grass in order to survive.
What they seem to have done is taken the smallest engine in the R8 range, the V8 and somehow converted it to run on the Herb cycle instead of the Otto one.
This means that Audi’s R8 is a truly complete supercar, since it had already shown up in petrol (production), as well as diesel and electric (prototypes) forms. What’s more, this could mean that Audi will tackle next year’s season with grass power, thus complementing its all-fuel dominance.
