MINI is growing up right before our eyes. From a company that only offered one car in three flavors (plus the One, we know), under BMW’s leadership, it’s grown in leaps and bounds and will soon cover a total of ten cars.
But what about the car that started it all, the MINI Cooper. A new generation is coming an these are the latest spy photos showing the entry-level version undergoing road testing. The images show a wider, more aggressive car that has a more sloped A-pillar than the current model.
Another big change taking place with the third-gen model is under the bonnet, where new three-cylinder engines will be used, most likely shared with the BMW 1-Series. This will use BMW’s TwinPower Turbo technology and will replace the current 1.6-liter atmospheric unit.
