The prototype of a next generation BMW convertible has been spotted undergoing winter testing. We are of course talking about the new 3-Series F33 convertible, that will feature the same sort of folding metal roof as the previous generation, only it will be bigger in every way.
For a while now, it has been speculated that the coupe and convertible models will be renamed as 4-Series cars. There is some credibility to these reports, as the new M3 will be shown as a sedan first, indicating there will be something much different in store for the coupe.
As for the engine lineup, this will include the regular engines from the F30 3-Series. This means a range of four- and six-cylinder cars. The most powerful car in the standard range will of course be powered by the 3.0-liter unit, but the N54 2.0-liter is rapidly gaining favor with customers.
The 3-Series family will also include a station wagon model, a coupe and the new Gran Turismo, which we showed you yesterday.
