Someone parked a 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye right outside their shop, handed them the keys, and simply walked away. The muscle car had been involved in a crash and needed to be fixed, but the owner wanted to get rid of it. They made an offer, bought it and are now rebuilding it.
A few days after the Dodge appeared at their shop out of the blue, they got a phone call from the owner who told them he wanted to sell them the muscle car. It had been crashed but had a clean title and only 4,000 miles (6,437 kilometers) on the odometer. He also wanted to get rid of a Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk with only 17,000 miles (27,359 kilometers) on the clock, also damaged in a crash.

They did not need the Trackhawk but offered $25,000 for the Dodge. The owner, Larry, asked for $30,000, and that was it. It was a deal that they just couldn't refuse. So, now, they ended up with a wrecked Challenger that they plan to fix and sell for profit.

At first, they did not realize how bad it was. The 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye came with a seriously damaged front bumper, several dents on the roof and hood, and all airbags deployed. But they knew that the car made a jump and landed violently. So, once they opened the hood, they saw it was way worse than they had thought that it would be.

The radiator was pushed back into the 6.2-liter V8. The HEMI is a 797-horsepower affair, and it still runs like nothing ever happened. But the car lost the power steering. The jump and hard landing explain why its internals are so deformed.

The Goonzguad guys have already started to work on the Dodge. They have ordered new bumpers, nuts, bolts, the rear pan, brakes, and the subframe. The project starts with tearing the car down.

They are impressed with how well the five-year-old crashed Dodge held up despite the violent impact with the pavement. They've got a Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye on their hands, and the muscle car is a beast. "This thing eats air for breakfast, lunch, and dinner," they joke referring to the functional hood scoop that ensures proper cooling for the monstruous HEMI.

They love everything about the Hellcat that was dropped off at their shop because the owner did not want it anymore. Furthermore, they discover a factory-mounted Demon differential at the rear. They put a new battery and freon to help cool down the supercharger.

They fire it up, and the HEMI engine has no hesitation. Everything looks brand-new, and the car sounds just like in the good old days. They drive it out of the shop for some burnouts and fill the yard with a huge cloud of smoke.

Now, they are going to need to buy new tires for the Redeye, too. The burnout leaves pieces of hot rubber and two perfect circles on the pavement in front of their shop. Before anything else, they have to wait for the smoke to dissipate.

They had previously estimated that the repair would cost around $15,000. They also hope to sell the car for around $55,000 or $60,000. But that price is going to grow if they keep doing burnouts.
