Camper vans and travel trailers with all kinds of amenities are perfect for weekend adventurers who don't want to leave behind the comforts of home when exploring the great outdoors, but true hardcore explorers who want to venture deeper into the wilderness seem to favor small, light, and easy-to-set-up trailers designed specifically for overlanding.
With the high demand for compact yet rugged travel trailers, the market for overlanding rigs is now stronger than ever, but not all models offer the same build quality or functionality. Here at autoevolution, we strive to bring to your attention only the best and well-equipped trailer campers, and the model we are going to explore today is one of them.

This is the Alpine, an ultra-rugged adventure trailer built for true explorers. It is designed by SNO Trailers, a family-owned and operated business based in Southern California whose motto is "Enjoy life, adventure more." The company specializes in high-quality travel trailers that can accommodate any need for overlanding and off-roading adventures.

Small and lightweight, the Alpine box trailer is not only easier to tow and manhandle but also boasts impressive off-road capabilities and can expand into a full-blown base camp. Fully equipped with all the accessories one needs for memorable overlanding experiences, the Alpine is living proof that explorers can still use a lighter camper trailer and not miss out on the excitement of the caravanning lifestyle.

But when you invest in an overlanding rig, you don't want it to be just stylish and functional but also rugged enough to withstand the most difficult terrains and last for years to come, hopefully long enough to hand down to your kids. SNO Trailers makes sure to offer just that with the Alpine, an overlanding trailer capable of withstanding the rigors of hard use over an extended period of time. As such, the trailer comes with a powder-coated steel frame for strength and durability and an aluminum body. A proprietary anti-rust base coating is also applied to keep rust at bay.

At just 12.2 feet (3.7 meters) long from drawbar to spare wheel and 6.25 feet (1.9 meters) wide, it travels relatively small. And considering its dry weight is just 1,500 pounds (680 kg), it can be towed with basically any off-road-ready vehicle.

To help you traverse even the most challenging terrain, SNO Trailers equips the Alpine with durable suspension and all-terrain tires. While the trailer comes standard with a Timber suspension, you can upgrade it to a fully integrated long-travel Fabtech suspension with shocks and brakes. Couple that with a Max Coupler Hitch and 17-inch Method wheels mounted with 275/70/R17 all-terrain tires, and you get a trailer that can take you off the beaten path with confidence.

The Alpine comes equipped with a wide range of standard features, including a spare tire rack with RotopaX Mounts at the rear, a premium roof rack with integrated Prinsu accessory mounts, and a utility box for storing recovery boards.

The abundance of smart storage space for your camping gear is one of the unique selling points of this rugged micro-camper. Apart from the above-mentioned roof rack, there is also a full-width fixed storage tray that can accommodate larger items, a wide-body kit with two side boxes that feature stainless-steel surfaces, and integrated molle panels on the side doors for smaller items. In total, you can load up to 2,000 pounds worth of gear and personal belongings.

The first side box integrated into the wide-body kit has three internal drawers, two dividers, a USB port, and a switch-pros panel. The second one is pretty similar but lacks the drawers and dividers, which makes it more suitable for bulkier items. All these storage solutions not only improve the functionality of the trailer but also help you keep everything well organized during your travels.

For your cooking needs, the Alpine comes with a stainless steel kitchen pullout that you can equip with a stainless-steel sink, a Dometic stove, and a cooler or fridge/freezer (these are not included as standard but are offered on the options list). The trailer can carry up to 30 gallons of water and two 10 lb propane tank holders.

When it comes to sleeping accommodation, the trailer can be outfitted with a rooftop tent that sleeps two. A 270-degree awning is also available to create an expansive outdoor living space.

But one of the aspects that make the SNO Trailers Alpine a unique proposition for outdoor adventurers is its open floor plan, which makes it incredibly functional and easy to use. The open plan design means that everything is efficiently incorporated so that you enjoy free movement from one side of the trailer to the other. You can basically access any part of the kitchen or living area without having to move around any barriers.

Last but not least, SNO Trailers equips the Alpine with a robust Renogy electrical system that comprises a 100AH AMG battery, a battery monitor, and a waterproof solar charge controller. A NOCO Genius battery charger, an external solar plug that allows you to charge the battery via a portable solar panel, and Switch-Pros panels are also included in the package. With all these electrical gadgets, you will certainly be able to charge up and stay connected no matter how far you go.

And the best thing of all is that you can customize the Alpine based on your traveling and camping needs. While the base trailer comes with some already impressive standard features and amenities, it is the optional upgrades that help you create a truly bespoke trailer for a personalized outdoor experience.

Every single aspect of the SNO Trailers Alpine is well-thought-out and neatly integrated for maximum functionality. And the combination of comfort, practicality, and off-road prowess makes it a great option for anyone looking for unforgettable overlanding experiences. In terms of pricing, the Alpine overlanding trailer starts at around $30,000, but you will certainly have to shell out a few more bucks if you want a trailer tailored to your needs.
