The guys racing in the Dakar Rallies are highly-experienced riders, well-acquainted to the harsh conditions of poor roads covered in rubble, sand and even larger rocks. However, having a pond and sand-covered road in a turn is a very efficient "trap" even the most experienced competitors will have a hard time escaping from.
It really doesn't matter how good the tires on the bike are: the mud formed at the exist from the puddle is more enough to crash pretty much all the riders coming in fast and preparing to enter the second left-hand turn.
This video shows just on of the dangers the Dakar riders have to cope with on a daily basis during the 2-week-long event. Watching it and seeing that no one got serious injuries makes us register this video under the “funny” tag, despite the fact that we're looking at some of the toughest cross-country riders in the world.
