'The little roadster that could' – that's one of the many possible descriptions for the Mazda MX-5 Miata. Present on the market since 1989 and labeled with successive letters (NA, NB, NC, ND) for its internal designation of each passing generation, this two-door sports car has always occupied a special place in the hearts and minds of automotive industry enthusiasts.
As such, it is no wonder that Mazda lovingly updates and nurtures it while also allowing it to stay on the market for as long as it is needed to solidify its cult following with each passing iteration. Some folks, though, are more in love with the early or the latest iterations – because passion, as always, is biased.

Beauty is always in the eye of the beholder, so many car enthusiasts love the original NA above all else, while others think that the modern flair and comfort creatures plus the dynamics of the latest iteration are way more appropriate. But what happens when the past meets the present? Well, if you're dwelling across the imaginative realm of digital car content creators – good things will happen.

So, this automotive artist & designer, better known as pistonzero across social media, demonstrates his love for the iconic roadster in the best way possible – all over again. The pixel master has long been appreciated by his fans because of his work on the original NA Mazda MX-5 Miata. But not long ago, he decided to do a curiously shaded (red-pink with white wheels, of course) MX-5 ND design project with an all-new front-end design and an adapted rear from his previous versions.

On top of that, the removable hardtop was inspired by his work on the original NA Mazda MX-5 Miata. But wait, as that wasn't all – the CGI expert also cooked an aftermarket approach to the concept with a slammed attitude and a full widebody aerodynamic kit with lots of black plastic bits and pieces. If you wanted to see it without the top on, there was also a very normal blue version in a 3D animation video.

However, upon popular request, the automotive artist made another version – an unplanned silver take on the whole shebang. To make it fresh, though, he didn't just implement his previous work on a differently-shaded Mazda MX-5 Miata and instead made the iconic roadster into a classic hardtop coupe like the Subaru BRZ and Toyota GR86. It's also complete with a roll cage inside and some nice lateral louvers on the side of the rear window.

As far as we can tell, it's not removable – so this makes it vastly different from the regular roadster and even the Mazda MX-5 Miata RF with its retractable hardtop. So, what do you think? Is it a CGI yay or nay?
