The Mlada Boleslav-based Czech automaker is pretty proud of Octavia's heritage, which includes a 65-year-old history and four modern iterations since 1996. And it's for good measure – it has already produced more than seven million examples of its best-selling nameplate.
Back in February, the refreshed Skoda Octavia series – including the station wagon – dropped by with subtle design updates and the 261-hp vRS Octavia Estate. Now, the Volkswagen AG subsidiary is launching the facelifted NX fourth iteration in Europe with "visual fine-tuning," new second-generation LED Matrix beam headlights, a reworked interior including seven Design Selections, a 13-inch infotainment display plus more sustainable materials, better connectivity, and enhanced safety.

"Our customers rightly expect a lot from Octavia, and this refresh takes our best-selling model to the next level. Innovations such as a fully redesigned infotainment system, new safety assistance systems, increased use of sustainable materials, and more powerful headlights make it an even better fit for everyday explorers. I'm confident our latest Octavia will surprise and delight its drivers and passengers, confirming its place as our most popular car," comments Klaus Zellmer, Chairman of the Board of Skoda Auto.

The refresh includes updated front and rear bumpers, a reworked radiator grille, fresh LED rear lights with animated turn indicators, as well as the customary new alloy wheel designs. The trim levels are simple - SE Technology, SE L, Sportline, and vRS, but additional personalization can be achieved through the seven Design Selections for the interior. The cockpit also gets new and sustainable materials for the seats, dashboard, and door panels, plus the 13‑inch Digital Display on selected models and an upgraded 10.25‑inch Virtual Cockpit that is standard from the base model.

There's an optional head-up display, more powerful 15-watt wireless charging plus four 45-watt fast-charging USB-C ports; the AI-based ChatGPT chatbot will soon be integrated with the standard Laura voice assistant and additional Octavia debuts also include the Intelligent Park Assist and Remote Park Assist systems. By the way, Skoda also knows a thing or two about popularity – more than 67% of sales since 2020 belong to the touring version, and the most beloved exterior colors are Magic Black, Brilliant Silver, and Graphite Grey.

Moving under the hood, there are three gasoline, two diesel, and two mild-hybrid engine options. The base powertrain choice includes the 1.5 TSI and 2.0 TDI with 116 ps (114 hp) that get sent to the wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox. Now, the entry-level gas engine has reverted back to a four-cylinder arrangement, and both that and its 150 ps (148 hp) variant can have mild hybrid technology when optioned with the seven-speed DSG transmission. The top diesel engine also has the same power rating and is only available with the seven-speed automatic. Last but not least, the 2.0 TSI churns out 265 ps (261 hp) and also comes solely with the DSG.

Pricing and specifications for the UK market are available in the press release embedded below. First deliveries are scheduled for summer.
