Its SEAT brother, the Ibiza, might be styled by a Lamborghini man, while the Polo looks sportier, but for practicality you can’t ignore the Skoda Fabia.
And in fact, three million people haven’t been able to overlook the Fabia, because that’s how many Skoda has sold after this anniversary model with a GreenLine engine finds its home.
The landmark Fabia rolled off the line in Mlada Boleslav and marks the success they’ve had with the compact hatch since it was launched in 1999.
A total of 1,788,063 first generation SKODA Fabias as well as another 1,211,937 second generation SKODA Fabias have been manufactured. This makes this their second most successful car after the Octavia.
Sales of this, the second generation model introduced back 2007 should continue for at least another two couple of years, as both the Fabia wagon and hatch were given makeovers in 2010.
“The SKODA Fabia has a great share in SKODA’s fast success story and plays a central role for our Growth Strategy 2018 as well,” emphasizes SKODA’s chairman of the board, Prof. Dr. h.c. Winfried Vahland.
“Thirteen years ago, the vehicle marked another milestone for our company as the third model series at the time. Since then, we have not just produced three million SKODA Fabias, but also more than doubled the annual sales of our entire model range. These figures are a powerful testimony to the success of the model in the international markets and to the development of the brand,” continues Vahland.
