If you know how to convert vans into mobile homes, you can surely use that experience on other types of rigs. That's what Keon did, shifting from camper vans to deluxe trailers. The rig I'm checking out today is a concept, so Keon might change some stuff before releasing it for purchase.
Last year, I stumbled upon one of Keon's camper van builds and dedicated an article to it. I still remember it perfectly because of its unique and very practical layout, with a Murphy bed at the front of the interior and a U-shaped kitchen at the back.

It's clear Keon has a talent for building mobile homes, so why not use it for other types of vehicles? That's how Tilghman Trailers came to be. Two main reasons prompted Keon to make this shift: trailers are cheaper and easier to work on due to their straight lines.

Before we take a closer look at this trailer, let me tell you more about pricing since I know it's one of the most important buying factors for the majority of people. Keon shared that his company's pricing will start at $15,000 (€13,928) for a more basic build and go up to around $50,000 (€46,426) depending on your desired features. However, regardless of the price, the layout will stay the same to maintain a proper weight distribution.

The trailer measures 12 feet (3.6 meters) in length, 7 feet (2.1 meters) in height, and 6 feet (1.8 meters) in width. It offers a lot of headroom and can also fit in a standard parking spot.

Keon doesn't know the exact weight of the trailer since it's not yet complete, but he shared it's rated for 2,500 lb. (1,134 kg). That means you don't need a massive vehicle to tow it; you can do it with a smaller SUV. Moreover, this one is a single-axle trailer, but Keon is also working on a double-axle trailer for another client.

At first glance, you won't expect the luxury and fine craftsmanship you'll find inside. On the outside, the trailer is pretty inconspicuous, finished in a simple grey paint and boasting a window on the driver's side. What's more, you'll find the entrance on the opposite side, which leads into the kitchen.

There's not much else to talk about regarding the rig's exterior except for a cool and useful feature: a massive deck that also serves as an additional entrance.

It's the rear wall of the trailer, which offers enough space for you to add two chairs and a table, allowing you to enjoy a meal, drinks, board games, or whatever tickles your fancy. Furthermore, it can also serve as a ramp if you want to bring your bikes onboard. Keon also plans to add a massive bug screen to cover the entire rear opening, and installing an awning above the deck is also possible.

Step inside, and you'll discover a beautifully designed, earthy living space. Despite the compact interior, Keon managed to fit a ton of features, including a bathroom and a kitchen. What's more, pale green cabinetry pairs with vinyl planks for the flooring, with fine ambient lighting completing the look. All the cabinetry you see inside was hand-crafted by Keon.

As you enter through the rear, the first area you'll be in is the living room. It features a massive 55-inch smart TV with cabinets underneath and shelves on the sides, a long couch with storage underneath, and a Lagun swiveling table. If you want to accommodate a guest overnight, you can transform the couch into an extra bed.

This design certainly shows that Keon started out by converting vans, as the interior looks like a camper van. Moreover, above, you'll notice what looks like a slatted ceiling.

Well, it's, in fact, the bottom of a HappiJac elevator bed. You can lower it to your preferred position at the touch of a button. An elevator bed is not only a space-saving solution but an aesthetically pleasing one as well, as you can simply hide it out of sight, along with blankets, pillows, and any other bedding.

This bed is about 5'5" (165 centimeters) wide and 6 feet long, spanning the entire interior width. When fully lowered, it sits lower than the TV. Furthermore, you can use the driver's side wall as a backrest, which also comes with four USB plugs and two outlets.

The bathroom and kitchen take up the front part of this trailer's interior. The kitchen features a deep sink, a small window, and a two-burner stove. There are three ways of ventilation when cooking (or you can use them all at once): a Maxxair fan above, the small window, and the entry door on the right. For cooling and heating, Keon fitted a 12 V A/C unit, and he also plans on installing a diesel heater.

I always say it's important to consider safety and security when building tiny homes on wheels. In fact, you can learn more about the best ways to protect yourself during camper van travels in this article I wrote. In this trailer, Keon installed a deadbolt for the entrance, which can be controlled via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Moreover, it can be unlocked from the outside via a fingerprint scanner or a PIN.

Two overhead cabinets, a cabinet underneath the sink, and two drawers can be utilized for storage. Moreover, right by the bathroom entrance, you'll find a small fridge/freezer, a massive drawer, and a huge wardrobe.

And finally, we have the extremely spacious wet bathroom – I love its simple yet premium look, with tiled walls imitating white marble, a skylight, a teak shower mat, a shower with a rain head, and a portable Laveo dry-flush toilet. By the way, water inside this rig is provided by a 33-gallon (125-liter) freshwater tank underneath the sink, and it drains into an under-mounted 30-gallon (113-liter) grey tank.

The last thing I'd like to mention is the power system. This rig is equipped with a capable power system – its highlights are 600 Ah batteries, a 3,000 W inverter, and a solar charge controller connected to 800 W solar panels on the roof. That's enough to go off-grid without worrying you'll run out of juice.

All in all, Keon did a fantastic job with his concept tiny home on wheels. It looks amazing, packs numerous creature comforts, and doesn't cost a fortune. You can see more of his designs and renders on the Tilghman Trailers Instagram page – I appreciate that the render he made for this specific trailer looks exactly like the real-life result.

I'm eager to see more of Keon's work and feature it here on autoevolution. As he said, you could use this rig in many ways – for full-time off-grid travel, as an AirBnb, and more. This rig is now for sale - as expected, it's at the higher end of the pricing interval Keon shared. It could be yours for $55,000 (€51,260). It might sound like much, but when you compare it to similarly equipped camper vans, I'd say it's an excellent deal, especially if you already have a vehicle you can tow it with. You can reach out to Keon for more information about it.
