In case you are not one of the lucky buggers who spent their last weekend in Barbados, you might be interested to know that you missed more than the warm weather, the coconuts and the overall carefree lifestyle there.
As it happens, the latest stop of the Top Gear Live World Tour took place in Barbados this Saturday and Sunday, bringing the three cheeky presenters together with a number of other famous car-related stars and drivers, including Tiff Needell, Scott Speed, Tanner Foust and Nelson Piquet Jr.
Taking place largely on the Bushy Park circuit, the latest Top Gear Festival also included the opening round of the Red Bull Global Rallycross championship, with Gymkhana-fan and rally driver Ken Block winning two of the three heats.
However, this is not all what Mr. Block did in Barbados, as he also burned quite a reasonable amount of rubber with his modified monster Ford Fiesta while trying to race against none other than Lewis Hamilton, who drove a Mercedes-AMG W03 single-seater from 2012.
Since Block's all-wheel drive Ford Fiesta is a rally cross car that can go on both tarmac and dirt and kick a lot of ass while at it, while Lewis Hamilton's Formula 1 cars is designed to only go on asphalt, the two drivers ran on two tracks that only briefly intersected, therefore keeping the suspense until the end.
Obviously, there is not actual footage of the race in its entirety, but the following two videos will give you a pretty good idea of how much fun the Top Gear Live Barbados event was. Or at least that is the vibe that we're getting. Next time they might even make a TV show out of it, especially since Top Gear seasons are so rare on TV anyway.
