Yesterday, we brought you the first image of SEAT’s future design language in the form of a leaked picture of the IBL Concept. Now, the Spanish automaker has take the wraps off their car as it makes its official Frankfurt debut.
"The IBL was created from the unique design DNA that will prevail right across our next vehicle generation. The IBL is certainly more than a saloon; it is the SEAT interpretation of a very sporty four-door. With it, we are also demonstrating that we can apply our elegant dynamics and our youthful character to a full-size vehicle concept, too, making it unique and unmistakable," says Alejandro Mesonero-Romanos, the new head honcho of SEAT Design.
SEAT says the concept doesn’t necessarily preview a production car, but we’re inclined to think otherwise. The lights and grille will be changed, but who makes a concept with good ground clearance. No, this is either the next Exeo or something altogether different.
This is the first time we’ve gotten a look at the interior of the concept, which is also very clean but angular, just like the exterior. The dash angles slightly toward the driver and the center console rises to meet the driver’s hand. The wheel is flat at the bottom. Again, this doesn’t look like a flight of fancy, but something that could hit a showroom in a couple of years.
