Yesterday, we got to see the Scion FR-S, and the Subaru BRZ, EPA numbers and it is now time to get back to the first in order to tell you that a leaked dealer document has revealed the pricing of the vehicle.
The document, which comes via FT-86 Club, shows that the Scion FR-S starts at $24,200, with the money getting you the six-speed manual gearbox. As for model fitted with the six-speed automatic transmission, this starts at $25,300. Of course, both vehicles share the same engine, a 2-liter boxer engine that uses natural aspiration and direct injection to produce 200 hp.
We have to express our disappointment, just like we did when the European pricing for the Toyota GT 86 sister model was announced, as the price is pretty high for the package. Just think about it: for this kind of money, in the US you can get a V6-powered Mustang with 315 hp or a Camaro with 323 hp, or, if you fancy imports, a Hyundai Genesis Coupe that uses a 274 hp 2-liter turbocharged four. We know that the FR-S is more about pure driving pleasure and handling, but you can’t ignore the power disadvantage it has when compared to the aforementioned vehicles
