Schumacher Content with 2010 F1 Season

Michael Schumacher had a season to forget this year, as he returned to F1 racing after 3 years of absence. Well, that last part of the statement alone is reason enough for his rather modest performances in 2010, although one could argue that a 9th place in the overall classification and 12 point finishes in 19 attempts is something he could build on in 2011.

And that person is Schumacher himself, as he admitted he is not very disappointed with what he has achieved in 2010.

Looking back at certain events there are reasons to be happy with certain things. Looking at the development over the year, particularly with what I take out of it, the team, Mercedes, asked me to come back because of who and what I am, and what contribution I can make,” said Schumacher.

From all these factors we are happy to keep on working together, and most importantly I am happy to keep on working together because I have fun.”

Additionally, he insisted that he expected to have a difficult season at comeback but, more importantly, he and his team have now managed to locate the problems with the car and are hoping for a fresh start in the off-season.

We have a very clear view and very clear targets we want to fulfill and achieve, and we feel this year we are behind because we were expecting more things to be achieved. But we understand the reasons for them, and much more importantly it is about what happens from here.”
