One of the greatest appeals of tiny houses on wheels is that they allow people to live by their own rules. Many want more financial freedom, others wish for more simplicity, and others simply want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, live amidst nature, and tread more lightly on this planet by minimizing their carbon footprint.
Due to their mobile nature, versatile design, and ability to be equipped for off-grid living, tiny houses on wheels are a solution to achieve all the above. Designed for a more sustainable lifestyle, the Saturn is a great example of a mobile compact home that can help dwellers adopt more eco-friendly living practices and reduce their environmental footprint.

Saturn is the creation of Tiny Wunder House, a Romania-based company that has been building sustainable tiny homes since 2014. When it was founded ten years ago, Tiny Wunder House was one of the first builders in Europe to craft homes on wheels. By using natural wood and recycled materials and equipping their homes with solar panel setups, this European builder creates enchanting mobile homes that are not only compact and easy to tow but also self-sufficient, encouraging people to live more intentionally, connect with nature at a deeper level, and enjoy life in a more sustainable way.

And though, at some point, the company grew considerably, at the moment, it only offers a handful of models and sticks to a small production of just two ultra customized houses per year. The 24-foot Saturn is one of those models and is built for those who want to head into the wild and forget all about conventional living. With a stylish design and premium features for maximum livability, Saturn is perfectly capable of turning your dreams of living off the grid in a little wooden cabin into reality.

The home is built on a double-axle trailer and boasts a unique shape that resembles an upside-down trapezoid. It is clad in wood, both inside and out, and every inch and corner showcases the builder's exceptional handiwork. As mentioned, it is one of those designs that encourages people to spend as much time as possible outdoors and connect with their surroundings through the incorporation of a fold-down deck that extends the living space to the outside. What's more, a smart lighting system lights up the house at night and makes it look like a modern architectural statement.

Built for year-round living, Saturn comes with 15-cm (5.9-inch) dense wool insulation and all-season glass, multi-chamber windows and door. The sloping roof is covered in solar panels; six of them, to be more precise, for a total of 2.2 kW of green power to keep everything in running order wherever the owners decide to venture.

The interior layout is conceived with practicality in mind, and despite the size limitations, the living space doesn't compromise on comfort or functionality. With an open-space ground floor, a separate bathroom, and a loft bedroom, this home is ideal for a couple but could easily accommodate two more adults thanks to a large convertible sofa in the living room.

Unlike other single-loft tinies, Saturn's upstairs bedroom lies above the living room instead of the bathroom, and the staircase is not in the center of the home but at one of the ends, opposite the couch. However, its sleek design means it doesn't take up too much space, does not obstruct the view, and instead adds a bit of much-needed storage space, as the steps integrate drawers or cupboards.

This atypical configuration makes room for a separate dining spot between the two entrance doors. It's made up of a fold-down table and a couple of folding chairs and can also double as a workspace for those who work from home. When not in use, you can simply fold it away and enjoy more wiggle room in the center of the house.

The compact kitchen boasts custom cabinetry with soft-close drawers and cabinets and a full-length wooden shelf for all your cooking essentials. In terms of appliances, it is accoutered with a sink, a two-burner gas cooktop, and a fridge/freezer.

Due to some clever design tweaks, such as a wood-burning stove mounted on a wall in the living room and LED lighting under the shelves in the kitchen, the overall ambiance of the ground floor is very homey and inviting.

Two full-height cabinets in the kitchen, the storage-integrated staircase, and the sofa in the lounge provide plenty of space to stow away all your stuff and keep the interior of the house clutter-free and organized.

The bedroom is simple and clean, with just a double mattress occupying the available floor space. The sleeping space is completely open, with no railing or protection wall, and two lateral windows keep it well lit and ventilated.

Last but not least, Saturn's bathroom is minimalist but offers all the basics, including a decent-sized shower, a small sink, a sizeable mirror, and a toilet. An automatic washing machine and duct system for drying clothes in the house is cleverly integrated inside one of the large cabinets, making laundry a breeze.

Designed for the adventurous soul, the Saturn tiny house offers the perfect blend of compactness, comfort, and convenience for great freedom of movement. It allows dwellers to roam untethered and embark on memorable journeys while still enjoying the comforts of home. Since Tiny Wunder House's models are highly customizable, there is no word on this unit's pricing.
