Recently, we heard that Ford decided to auction off the seventh-generation 2024 Mustang Dark Horse VIN 001 on January 27, with all the proceeds going to charity. That's a little late, don't you think, given that S650 sales kicked off late last summer?
Maybe the Blue Oval wasn't too confident that its latest introduction would go on without any hiccups – and it was safe to assume that given some of the recent debacles, most prominently the 2021 Bronco, for example. But the start was a resounding success – alongside its S550 predecessor, Ford wrapped the year of sales with the S650 towering above the classic Dodge Challenger and Chevy Camaro rivals.

Interestingly, given that 2023 was the final year of production for both Camaro and Challenger (plus the current four-door Charger), things might have gone down a lot differently, as folks usually want souvenirs that can act as great investments or collectibles in the years to come. Well, that wasn't the case here, and the Ford Mustang was again the king of the hill as far as America's pony (and muscle) cars are concerned.

We are still determining how much time before Ford also has to change its lifestyle to an EV-centric one, given that Dodge is intensely teasing the electric Charger Daytona, but, for sure, there will always be people who would rather look back instead of forward. Even across the imaginative realm of digital car content creators, that is.

For example, Abimelec Arellano, a virtual artist better known as abimelecdesign on social media, has prepared the latest wishful thinking project - and you'll either love or hate it, depending on your S650 seventh-generation 2024 Ford Mustang GT point of view. More precisely, this pixel master decided the new Mustang GT really needed a 1993-inspired makeover.

By the way, that was the year when the newly-established Ford SVT division introduced the 1993 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra and Cobra R high-performance models and also the year when, in November, the Blue Oval company presented the SN95 Mustang, their first major redesign after fifteen years of Fox Body Mustangs. However, this 1993-like Ford Mustang GT doesn't get just SVT Cobra cues – like the massive chrome wheels.

Instead, it also includes stuff from the unique Mustang SVO – a "custom double-deck wing for that extra nineties Ford flavor." All in all, the 1990s 'bling' is quite relatable to the S650 Mustang, showing that Ford doesn't just think about the future in a bid to try and make their pony car more like a regular sports car – the latest seventh-gen is also easy to morph into something that lovingly looks back in time at its predecessors.

By the way, if you're not necessarily a Blue Oval fan, there's also a potentially crazy makeover of the now-defunct Dodge Challenger styled as a 1990s-era Japanese rear-wheel-drive car embedded second below. So, which one are you tripping over?
