Rusty Wallace Racing (RWR) had a busy weekend, not only confirming Brendan Gaughan as the team's No. 62 Toyota Camry driver for the 2010 season, but also naming Scott McDougall crew chief for the No. 66 driven by Steve Wallace.
"Rusty has built a great organization and everyone is working extremely hard to get our Toyota Camrys in Victory Lane this season," Brendan Gaughan said according to NASCAR. "With a full year of Nationwide Series experience under my belt now and all of the changes at the team, I can't wait to get to Daytona."
Gaughan was with RWR in 2009 as well, managing a good Nationwide season as a rookie for the team. He managed a pole at Bristol and a runner-up finish at Charlotte.
"He did a great job last year in his rookie season and came really close to winning a couple of races," Rusty Wallace said. "I feel like we've upgraded our program greatly over last season, so hopefully we'll be able to give him that extra push to get him into Victory Lane this time around."
As said, Scott McDougall is Wallace's new crew chief, after serving as engineer for CJM Racing's No. 11 team. He managed five top-five and eight top-10 finishes in the final 11 races of 2009, with drivers Mike Bliss and Denny Hamlin.
"Scott McDougall brings a great deal of experience and a strong engineering-driven approach to our team's efforts," Wallace added. "As we go along, we're constantly trying to upgrade all aspects of our program and this is yet another large upgrade. Between this announcement and our new Toyota and Gibbs alignments, 2010 is shaping up to be the strongest year yet for our team."
