The Caterham 7, originally the Lotus 7, has a very rich history behind it and is easily one of the most iconic sports cars ever made in the British Isles. Its design has not changed at all since its inception, and Caterham, who bought the rights to make it in 1973 have been steadily improving its mechanicals over the years, leaving the styling untouched.
This is a very British way of going about things, and Morgan also follows a similar philosophy. Now, while the classic-looking Caterham 7 may please some, there are others who wish its design would have evolved into a more modern, albeit similar shape. Independent Russian designer Yury Zamkovenko agrees with the prior statement, and has taken it upon himself to recreate the 7 with a modern twist.
We say he has succeeded and if Caterham themselves were to build this very car, it would surely sell very well, while also attracting a new type of buyer, as the regular 7 is often associated with nerdy car nuts who fail to generate any other conversation topics aside from their coveted car.
