The former World Number One and two-time major champion golfer, Rory McIlroy, got the chance to test drive BMW's new i3 before the BMW Championship, the penultimate tournament in the 2013 PGA TOUR Playoffs.
He wasn't alone in this endeavor. Gary Woodland, another golf pro, joined him and he too was impressed of how agile and fast the i3 was. In between golf tournaments, the two actually enjoy driving.(
It's easy to see why they both liked the i3 too. After all, it is the world's first all-electric vehicle built from the ground up and its performance figures surely don't give that away. With 1,490 kg kerb weight and an electric motor that develops 170 HP, the i3 is the best offer on the market in this field.
At the moment the vehicle just entered production, so we can't yet talk sales, but according to BMW officials, we should be looking at a successful EV in the video below.
