Back at the 2009 edition of the Frankfurt Auto Show, the public got to see a prototype of the Roading Roadster, a track toy that is also street legal. However, until now we haven’t received a production version of the car, but only various testing session that were captured by our spy photographers.
However, the Geneva Auto Show 2012, which is very close to opening its doors to the public, will give us the final version of the Roading Roadster, with the first deliveries set to take place soon after the Swiss event. However, production will be limited to just 23 units.
The vehicle will tip the scales at just 920 kg (2,028 lbs) thanks to compact dimensions and lightweight materials, and will be powered by a BMW turbocharged straight six delivering 320 hp and a peak torque of 400 Nm.
With the help of a six-speed manual gearbox and relying on the rear axle to send its power to the road, the unit will send the car past the 62 mph mark in under four seconds and onto a top speed of 174 mph (280 km/h).
