Clean sweep for Repsol Honda and Dani Pedrosa in the first official pre-season test at Sepang in Malaysia: the best lap times in all three sessions, with the last one also showing (finally) a clear gap between the Honda and the 2nd place Yamaha.
Pedrosa ended the Sepang ride with a 2m00.100s l lap, 0.329s ahead of Jorge Lorenzo. While the riders in the first 4 places remianed the same, the thrid day brought Valentino Rossi in Marc Marquez' place. Marquez also took his forst official MotoGP fall during the morning, but made it unhurt and was able to rejoin the race, ending up fourth.
Ducati's machines showed a little more brawn today and both Hayden and Dovizioso managed to climb a position up each, to places 9 and 10, respectively. Ben Spies of Pramac Ducati decided to skip and rest his injured shoulder, while his team mate Andrea Iannone came in 13th.
With the two main Ducati a little higher in the day's rankings, we might think that the tweaks the team planned yesterday turned up good results. That would be really nice, as we'd hate to see the 2013 MotoGP season starring a gloomy Ducati factory team. Sepang day 3 results after the jump.
