Renting a fast car is a good idea, an excellent one actually, but only if you right foot doesn’t go wild in an uncontrolled way. We don’t know if this is what led to the ‘Vette in the adjacent image landing in canal in Florida, but we can tell you how it got there.
It all happened yesterday in Palm Beach, where the driver of a Hertz rental Corvette convertible lost control of the car, smashed through the guardrail and landed upside down in a canal nearby. According to Corvette Blogger, the vehicle is totaled, at it has been affected by the water after loosing its hood, boot lid and front fenders in the accident.
The driver and the passenger had escaped the car when the emergency services arrived and they were sent to hospital to receive medical care for minor injuries. At the moment, it is unclear if the driver will face any charges.

PS: speaking of the financial side of the crash, it could be worse, Ford GT 40 worse.
