Whenever you asked Renault about rear-wheel drive, they say something along the lines of "we've heard of it, but it's not very good". The French are masters of making fun cars that only send their power to the wheel, but because of a collaboration with Daimler's smart brand, all that changed today.
Just a few minutes ago, the highly anticipated Twin'Run Concept made its appearance in an official video. The little pocket rocker is named a "city car" and a "homage to the legendary R5 Turbo and Clio V6."
Just like the smart fortwo with which it will likely share its platform, the Twin'Run is rear-wheel drive and has the engine in the same place you'd find it on a Clio V6. However, it's not a puny 0.9 TCe under there, but a godly 320 hp V6 borrowed from the Megane Trophy.
We're unlikely to see that entering production, but it makes for one heck of a spectacle watching it race the iconic Clio V6 and the mental R5 Turbo.
