Just like the Clio II continued to be sold into 2012 alongside the Clio III under the name Clio Campus, so too will the Clio III become a modern classic under the name “Clio Collection”. Renault says it’s sold 2.4 units of the “III” since its launch in 2005, so it’s only natural they keep it in production a little longer.
The car is sold with either the 1.2-liter 16-valve naturally aspirated four-banger producing 75 hp, or the 1.5-liter turbodiesel with 75 hp, basically their cheapest engines.
The Clio Collection is available in two trim levels. The base Alize comes with ABS, EBD, front and lateral airbags, folding rear bench, electric front windows, trip computer, remote central locking a 40W radio-CD player and height-adjustable steering wheel. In France, prices for this model start at €9,990 for the 3-door o €10,590 for the 5-door.
The more wealthy Clio Collection buyer will be able to go for the Business model, which comes with Carminat TomTom navigation, a better radio, speed limiter, fog lights, electric door mirrors and height-adjustable driver’s seat. Right now, the french market configurator shows you can only have this one as a 5-door with the diesel for €17,300, which is a lot of money for an old Clio.
