The 265 version of the Megane RS is a slightly improved version of the most serious hothach out there. It was shown at the beginning of the year and has been slowly rolled out across Europe.
Now the hot Megane is making its way down to the land down under, Australia, where it will be offered for a relatively reasonable $42,640. The RS 265 goes on sale across Australia on August 28th, 2012.

The 265 in the name refers to the horsepower output of the 2.0-liter engine, which is 15 hp more than before.

The model in question is the equipped with the Cup chassis, a limited slip diff and standard 18-inch wheel.

“I am so excited to be launching the Mégane R.S. 265 in Australia. We have been blown away by the overwhelming customer response to the Mégane R.S. 250 and are actually, currently the third largest market globally for this car. The Mégane R.S. 265 represents the best of Renault and Renault Sport. Through subtle changes to the exterior and interior, we have achieved a striking result and a noticeable difference from the Mégane R.S. 250,” said Justin Hocevar, Managing Director of Renault Australia.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
