Even though the Renault Megane facelift got three Euro NCAP stars despite it behaved like a four-star car when tested, the C-segment car is still a big seller for the French automaker in European markets.
To up the appeal of the hatchback, Renault is now offering the Frenchies a special edition Megane - the Coupe Ultimate Edition. Priced from €25,700, the Ultimate is just €2,000 more expensive than the Intens trim level, but it comes packed with all sorts of goodies and a choice of two potent engines.
Available with either the Energy TCe 130 turbo'd gasoline engine or the Energy dCi 130 oil burner, both powerplants are mated as standard to a six-speed manual transmission. Renault says that the Megane Coupe lineup "marks the end of summer" with the newly introduced Ultimate, which is based on the previously mentioned Intens specification.
Every Intens model is offered with dual-zone auto climate control, cruise control and speed limiter, rear parking, rain and light sensors, handsfree entry and starting, adjustable driver's seat, tinted rear glass and leather on the steering wheel. In addition to the aforementioned, the Ultimate adds a fixed glass sunroof, Renault's R-LINK system with satellite navigation and connected services, 18-inch Gloss Black Serdard wheels, electrically folding mirrors, leather upholstery and heated front seats, aluminum pedals, Ultimate badges and Black Lacquer cabin trimming details.
Already on sale and available until March 2015, the Renault Megane Coupe Unlimited can be kitted with a few optionals, including metallic paint, a spare wheel and two packages: the Easy Pack (electronic parking brake, Hill Start Assist) and the Techno Pack (rearview parking camera, automatic headlight activation and lane-departure warning).
