Reconnoitre Concept Car: The Urban Spy

The Cadillac lookalike concept imagined by David Chacon seems to trace a clear line towards the future minimalistic urban landscape which will resemble a lot with concepts like the Reconnoitre diesel-electric hybrid. The concept is a compact hatch which combines practicality with performance.

Fitted with a supercar electric motor, the car offers a classy driving experience without having to make any compromises. The concept gives a feel of agility and looks to be just as fast and nosy like a “spy” which translates into French as Reconnoitre.

The diesel-based electric vehicle reverse hybrid can be fit four passengers despite its given size. Also the car offers a large cargo loading area with the hatched back boosting the boot volume.

David Chacon dreamed the vehicle to be small, lightweight, efficient and city friendly meaning that it was designed to fit in cramped parking spaces. Under the “skin” the concept hides an active suspension which allows the ride co change in height trough a predictive suspension adjustment. The concept’s body was thought to be manufactured of thermoplastic carbon fiber which allows it to be flexible, strong and lightweight on the road, as related by automotto.com

The windscreen comes fitted with translucent solar panels which generate energy even when the car is parked in the shade. Furthermore the lithium manganese Spinel batteries are good enough to last for 40 years. David Chacon designed the car to act also a sports car, not only as an urban transporter. In order to do that, the wheels are coupled with regenerative braking feature that gives the driver the ultimate control in all kinds of conditions.
