Porsche makes some great drivers’ cars, and in fact, all the cars they make are an excellent drive. However, whenever prospective customers want to take a car out for a test drive, they usually end up stuck in traffic, especially in some of the more crowded US cities.
So, as of 2014, Porsche will open a private test track where their customers and prospective customers will be able to experience what their cars can do to the fullest. It will be part of a 26-acre complex which will be built in Atlanta, Georgia - it will cost Porsche some $100-million to complete, and it will be fully operational two years from now.
The track itself will be 1.6 miles or 2.56 km long, and dealers across the country will be able to book it for customers, or various events. Porsche estimates that some 20,000 people will pass through the facility every year, with as many as 15% of the visits being arranged by the dealers.
