Porsche has announced that the 2012 Los Angeles International Auto Show will be the host of a major world premiere: a brand new, never before seen compact sportscar.
The show is open to the public on November 30th, but the new Porsche will be revealed on the 28th. However, those of you who follow our spyshots section probably know already that there is only one likely candidate, the new Cayman, which for a while has been rumored to debut in LA.
The car is built on the same platform as the 2013 Boxster, the 981 architecture, which is both wider and longer, sporting an increased wheelbase as well. Those of you who are afraid of approaching a curb in their sportscar, know that the new Cayman will also be lower to the ground.
Power will come from either a 265 hp 2.7-liter in the base Cayman or a 315 hp detuned 3.4-liter flat-six shared with the 911 Carrera.
