Volkswagen Group caused quite a stir during their opening party at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show and the Porsche Cayman GT4 is one of the models that led the parade on the Swiss stage.
After becoming the fastest Cayman ever to perform on the Nurburgring circuit with a time of 7 minutes and 40 seconds, Porsche’s new track toy called Cayman GT4 walked on the red carpet (actually, it was gray) along big names like Lamborghini Aventador SV and the new 2016 Audi R8.
Unfortunately, no sporty driving will be carried on tonight, although the Cayman GT4 has no problem in zapping from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds thanks to a 3.8-liter flat-six, courtesy of big brother 911 Carrera S.
The engine’s power output, rated at 385 HP, is managed by a six-speed manual gearbox that has plenty to say on the Stuttgart coupe’s acceleration from a standstill. Porsche Cayman GT4 can reach a top speed of 295 km/h (183 mph) and is looking like a very tempting track-oriented model.
Knowing Porsche’s soft spot for creating cars that can cut through corners like a surgeon’s hand while holding a scalpel, drivers should expect a fine balance between power, aerodynamics and race-bred suspension system, plus a lot of downforce generated by the rear spoiler.
These goodies are not cheap at all, as the Porsche Cayman GT4 comes with a starting price tag of 85,779 euro in Germany, will US customers will be able to buy the devilish coupe for a starting price of $84,600. Since we’re talking Porsche here, clients can also choose carbon ceramic brakes, the Sport Chrono Package and CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer/Plastic) sports seats and a whole hoast of interior goodies.
