The current generation of Porsche 911 has been with us for a good couple of years now, in which time we've thoroughly enjoyed plenty of tuning projects and the odd test drive with a Targa or a Turbo from time to time. However, we've never had the pleasure of seeing such a uniquely stitched together interior as this one, not surprisingly coming from the Polish interior specialists Carlex Design.
They took the outside color of a blue 911 and brought it inside, combining high quality black nappa with dark blue leather accessories from Porsche probe. The highlight of the whole project are the carbon sport bucket seats. They don't look particularly comfortable to sit in, but the space-age design makes us think of Normandy 3 from Mass Effect, while the blue stitching on the dash and doors is as well defined as Commander Shepard's armored suit.
Keen-eyed fans of the 911 will have already noticed this isn't a stock car. The body kit is the work of Caractere Exclusive, total overkill considering this is just a Carrera model, not even equipped with the Sport Chrono pack. The tuner has installed a new front bumper with larger intakes and a carbon fiber splitter, massively flared side skirts that lead into side air intakes and a large wing for added downforce. They also provided a set of sport exhausts with custom tailpipes and a 10-spoke bronze wheel design that goes very well with the blue bodywork.
What's our say in all this? The electric blue 911 interior is definitely not for us. It reminds of the first generation Ford Focus RS, with its blue seatbelts and blue leather seats. Red would have been better for the inside, while the body kit is too much for a beautiful sportscar that everbody likes as-is.
