Peugeot has released the specification of the iOn electric vehicle together with a set of images of the car, ahead of its Paris Auto Show debut.The vehicle is a sister model for the Mitsubishi i-MiEV and the Citroen C-Zero. The Peugeot car will be the cheapest of the three, being offered for a price of EUR29,950.
The EV uses an electric unit that comes with 64 hp and a maximum torque of 180 Nm, and is fed up by a 16 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The battery can each a full charge status in 6 hours if a standard 220V outlet is used, or an 80 percent charge in 30 minutes with a rapid charger.
The 1,120 kg car will offer a driving range of 93 miles (150 km), while reaching 62 mph from a standstill in 15.9 seconds and topping at 80 mph (130 km/h).
“Anticipated, dreamed about, the first of a new-generation of 100% electric full size cars is here. Peugeot is making it available not just for a few intrepid adventurers, but for a wide customer base made up of private individuals, professionals and public services all of whom are convinced and resolved to take together the first step towards a new type of mobility,” stated the press release.
