Peugeot 4007, Launched in Australia

French carmaker Peugeot announced today the release of the 4007 onto the Australian market, a premiere for the manufacturer, as this is its first ever 4WD SUV to hit Australian shores. The car is equipped with the 2.2l HDi engine, which develops 156 bhp and a maximum torque of 380 Nm. And that's not all...

We know towing capacity, ride & handling, seating capacity and safety are paramount for today’s SUV buyer – happily 4007 delivers on these fronts. 4007 also delivers one of the most fuel efficient vehicles in its class with the benefit of low emissions," Ken Thomas, Peugeot Australia managing director said in a release.

The engine is paired with the new Getrag 6-speed DSC automatic gearbox. Together, they make for a fuel consumption rating of 7.0l/100 km and CO2 emission figures standing at 191 grams/km. The new transmission can be operated in two automatic programs, Drive or Sport and one semi-automatic mode, Sequential.

“Gaining access to the brand new Getrag 6-speed DSC automatic gearbox is a very exciting development for 4007 and a further example of new technology available today," Thomas added.

"4007 is an SUV with very strong credentials having sold in excess of 25,000 worldwide since launch. It brings an affordable European alternative for anyone looking for a luxurious medium-sized four-wheel drive with the latest diesel technology."

Peugeot celebrates over 120 years of innovation where the brand has excelled in the toughest of environments. Within this tradition, we are confident 4007 will be a great success in Australia.

Pricing for the 4007 in Australia have not yet been announced.
