The Peugeot 208 was included in a lot of cars that have recently been tested by the Euro NCAP, with the French compact receiving a five-star safety rating. The 208 was offered an 88 percent adult occupant protection score, 78 percent for child occupant, 61 percent for pedestrian, as well as 83 percent for the safety assist.
The vehicle offered a good level of protection in the frontal impact test, with Peugeot showing that a similar level of protection would be provided for occupants of different sizes and to those sat in different positions.
As for the side barrier impact test, the 208 offered adequate protection for the chest and good protection for the other parts of the body. However, in the more severe pole test, protection of the chest was marginal. The same marginal rating was also offered for the seat and the head restraint in the rear end collision test.
When it comes to pedestrian protection, the front edge of the bonnet was rated as marginal at best, while the bumper offered good protection.
